Candida is a common term for a group of yeast called the Candida albicans that frequently affect the skin. The yeast usually lives in the body and in small numbers. It normally resides in the intestinal tract, mouth, and throat. Its population is controlled by immune system however, if the bacteria are killed by antibiotics or if a person’s immune system weakens, the population of Candida increases and infection may occur. The yeast can create holes in the intestinal tract, enter the blood stream and find its way into any organ of the body and emits over 70 different toxins. Natural Infections such as oral thrush, vaginal yeast infections and skin infections are results of the proliferation of the yeast.

Candida or yeast infections are caused by a fungus called Candida Albicans and more commonly occur in the vagina of women. It can also happen in the mouth, under skin folds and anywhere else it is moist and warm, and it is not just limited to women, men can get it too as can children.
