Yeast infections can occur on many parts of the body. Most often yeast infections will occur on the genitals or inside the mouth. But the skin can also be the site of a yeast infection. So yest, you can get a yeast infection on the chin.

Yeast likes to grow in warm, moist environments. It prefers darkness, but given the right conditions will grow in light.

What Circumstances Encourage A Yeast Infection On The Chin?

Under normal conditions yeast doesn't have a chance to grow on the skin. We all have a certain amount of protective bacteria on our skin and in our bodies. The protective bacteria and the ability of the skin to protect our body is our first line of defense against yeast infections and bacterial infections.

Odds for a yeast infection on the chin increase if the protective bacteria on the skin is decreased or eliminated. There are several ways the protective bacteria can be eliminated and the skin scraped so its protective barrier is broken.

Using Antibiotics For An Infection

Over Zealous Use Of Antibacterial or Deodorant Soaps

Overly Vigorous Scrubbing Or Exfoliation Of The Facial Skin

With some disease states it is more common to get a yeast infection on the chin. Diabetics, obese people, those with HIV, elderly people with poor nutritional habits or those with existing yeast infections are at higher risk of getting a yeast infection on the chin.

Anytime the protection of the skin is opened or the protective bacteria are decreased there is potential for yeast infection on the chin. Good personal hygiene, gentle care of the skin, and good health habits are part of minimizing the chances to get a yeast infection of the chin.
